    Gavazzi provides solutions for concrete reinforcement using preformed bars made of GFRP (Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer) composite material: GAVABAR.

    reinforcement bars feature a spiral winding that provides improved adhesion. They are lightweight and high-performance, guaranteeing greater mechanical performance and durability than traditional reinforcement.

    Advantages

    • Economic efficiency: With the same diameter, GAVABAR bars achieve higher mechanical performance than steel bars. This results in reduced logistics, transport and storage costs. Furthermore, surface cracks and moisture penetration do not affect GFRP reinforcement, which means that maintenance is much cheaper.

    • Weight reduction: GAVABARs weigh significantly less than steel bars. With the same diameter, the difference is approximately 75%, while with the same mechanical tensile performance, the difference is almost 90%.

    • No corrosion: GAVABARs are immune to corrosion, alkaline and saline. They therefore require significantly less concrete cover than steel.

    • Customisation: GAVABAR bars are produced in different sizes and thicknesses. They can also be made to measure to eliminate material waste. 

    • Low environmental impact: Thanks to their corrosion resistance, GAVABARs require less maintenance over time and guarantee greater structural durability.

    • Ease of handling: GAVABARs are significantly lighter than steel and eliminate the need for heavy lorries or cranes for handling. They can be supplied in rolls, allowing up to 8,000 metres to be transported on a single pallet, greatly facilitating storage.
